SHAWN STARBUCK

shawn pic portrait

Shawn has been in full-time ministry for over 25 years, leading worship and helping pastor several churches in California, Florida, and Tennessee. He and his wife Marlena serve at their local church in the Nashville, TN area. Together, they shepherd the worship, prayer, and care ministry teams. Shawn has been awarded academic degrees in music, religion, and a master’s degree in pastoral counseling and theology. Though Shawn’s primary calling has been serving the local church, he has also had success in songwriting, recording, and radio play. God has been working in the Starbuck’s to bring them into a personal mission of “equipping and caring for worship ministry leaders.” With a special place in their heart for creatives and those who are on the front lines of challenging ministry, they seek to respond to Jesus’s observation in the Gospel of Matthew “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 9:36, NIV). Moved by God’s compassion for others, Shawn and Marlena are devoted to equipping and caring for other leaders as God sends more workers into the harvest (Matthew 9:37).
